FarmQA Updates: New Dashboard, Chatbot and More

Get ready for the growing season with the latest from FarmQA. We've been hard at work adding a host of new features and improvements to make your agronomy processes more efficient and data-driven. This blog covers key changes, from our new dashboard and chatbot to enhancements in scouting, blends, and more.
Introducing the FarmQA Dashboard
One update we're really excited about is the FarmQA Dashboard. This feature provides an overview of essential information in your FarmQA account. To access it, simply click on the "Dashboard" tab on the FarmQA homepage.

Dashboard Highlights
- Crop and Variety Acreage: Get a quick breakdown of your planted acres by crop and variety. This data is available to all dashboard users.
- Weather at-a-Glance: Integrate weather data from your existing weather stations directly into your dashboard. Display a five-day forecast or hourly forecast.
- Field Journal: Keep track of important events in your fields, such as planting, scouting reports, recommendations, and spray records. Filter events for a more focused view.
- Task Management: View your upcoming work items and get an overview of your workflow across your organization.
- Analytics Integration: If you're using FarmQA Analytics, you can bring your metric visualizations directly into your dashboard. You can also pan and zoom on metric data for closer analysis.
- Satellite Imagery Tracking: Monitor when your satellite imagery is being collected (Imagery add-ons for both Sentinel and Planet are available). This helps you understand when new imagery is available for your fields.
Key notes about the dashboard:
- Root Level Access: You'll need to be at the root level of your enterprise to edit the dashboard. Changes made here will be reflected in all your sub-folders.
- Customization: The dashboard is highly customizable. You can drag and reposition tiles to your liking.
- Adding Panels: You can add various panels to your dashboard, including field journals, weather information, metrics (if you're signed up for the Analytics add-on), satellite imagery, work tasks, crop allocation metrics, and the FarmQA ChatBot.
Meet the FarmQA Chatbot
Need help? The new FarmQA chatbot feature provides quick support and can help answer your questions. It's available in both the web version and the mobile app.
The chatbot draws information from our blog posts and support articles to provide you with step-by-step instructions and guidance. We encourage you to provide feedback on the chatbot to help us improve its functionality. You can access the chatbot through the question mark icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

Updates to Blends Pricing
Last fall, we added the ability to combine fertilizer products to create blends from nutrients and micro-nutrients. (For a refresher on blends, watch the Fertility and Crop Planning webinar.)
With the March update, we added the ability to see blend pricing in plans and recommendations.

How to Use Blends
- Adding Fertility Products: Begin by adding the fertility products you want to use in your blends. Ensure you include pricing information for each product. You can also add micronutrients to your products.
- Creating Blends: Create your blends by specifying the products and their proportions.
- Blend Integration in Plan Templates: Add your blends to your plan templates. You'll see a nutrient breakdown for each blend including any micro-nutrients.
- Price Breakdowns: Get price breakdowns for your blends in the planning section. View the total quantity, price, and cost for each blend. The total cost of all your blends is also displayed.
- Exporting Blend Data: Export your blend data as a PDF.
- Pricing in Recommendations: Blend pricing information is also available in your individual recommendations.
Task Improvements: Organizing Soil Sampling Markers
We've improved task functionality to help you organize your data, particularly for soil sampling. Whether you're zone sampling, grid sampling, or composite sampling, the sampling protocol is different, and you may not want them all in the same layer. Now, you can separate the sampling markers into layers that make sense for you.
- Marker Layers: Create different layers for your soil geo markers (e.g., generic soil sample marker layer, grid sample marker layer).
- Task Creation: When creating tasks, you can assign a marker type to the tasks and ensure that the sample locations are captured within the appropriate layer.

Mobile App Enhancements
We've made significant improvements to the FarmQA mobile app:
- Editing Recommendations and Spray Records: You can now edit and delete recommendations and spray records directly from the mobile app. Completed recommendations can only be deleted. In-progress recommendations can be edited.
- Scouting Improvements: You can now track different areas within a field during scouting using the draw on map and follow me features for numeric fields. For example, you can capture acreage of specific areas (e.g., drowned out sections or crop populations) directly within the scouting report. This feature is available for number-based questions in your scouting templates. You can also use the "follow me" option (truck icon) to record the perimeter of a specific area while driving. You can include multiple measurements per observation per field.

- Moving Markers: You can now move geo markers while keeping the base map visible. This is helpful for ensuring accurate placement of soil sample locations in relation to zones.
- Sorting Reports: We've added a new "Scouting Report" section to the mobile app. This section allows you to view all your scouting reports in one place, making it easier to access and manage your data.
